The 2CV and its derivatives ... an art of living.
A true social phenomenon, the 2CV was marketed from 1948, during the motor show in the presence of the president Vincent Auriol.
It was produced in France until 1988, and in Portugal until 1990. Today adored, it is still an essential communication medium for brands, symbol from France. The production of the 2CV and its derivatives (namely the Dyane, Ami 6, Ami 8, van, Méhari ...) represents nearly 7 million vehicles.
All these models were produced in many countries, outside of Europe, each time with particularities. This is surely what was worth very quickly its globetrotting side at the Deuche, probably also pushed by Citroën which from the 70s organized Raids (Paris Kaboul, Persepolis etc ...).
From the start she succeeds adventurous vocations as for the advertising Jacques Seguela (then still a student) and his friend Jean-Claude Baudot who recognized his potential. In 1958 they go around of the world aboard their 2CV AZLP, thus covering more than 100,000 km through asphalt, jungle and eternal snow.
The 2CV was exploited, and still is in all its forms. In the 60s in 4x4 version, specifically to operate pipeline lines in North Africa, in aquatic form with 2CV nautical races, and even in the sky! Every year since 1999, the Cochonou brand has been using its 2CV Vichy on the roads of the Tour de France.
A true popular cult object, the 2CV marks generations of motorists and has not finished talking about it.
